Jordan Anstatt is an American film director and screenwriter. His experiences growing up in an intensely religious environment shaped his interest in stories about secrets, intimacy, and finding freedom. He started his career with his first short film, the psychological drama Somna (2016), while studying film at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He went on to complete an MFA in film at Columbia University, where he made several short films, including the crime dramedy Blue Bags Float in Saltwater (2019), the micro-short drama portrait Salut Maman (2020), and the true-crime psychological thriller Max is Bleeding (2021), which premiered at Palm Springs International ShortFest 2021. His MFA thesis film, a family dramedy called Baby Skin (2024), premiered at HollyShorts Film Festival and won Best Short Film in the Roadmap Writers Shorts Competition in 2026. Recently, he completed the psychological horror short There Is No Camera, which is pending release, and is working on his debut feature film, Preacher Man, a dramedy about a pastor’s relationship with his troubled nephew. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
